What should your broker bring to the table
We’ve heard this question many times along our journey as Finance and Mortgage Brokers. How do you decide who to use and what should your broker bring to the table?
Every brokerage runs their business differently, just as any other business. We all have different skills and competencies that can either make us stand out from the crowd or hide away in the bushes.
As a minimum, your broker should be providing you education around finance, lending, lenders and your own personal circumstances. We share our knowledge with our clients, so that they can walk away really comfortable and understanding of their position, goals and plans for the next step in their finance journey.
Brokers usually have access to many of the same lenders, with some small exceptions. So for the most part, any broker can get you in with most lenders. The real power of a great broker is taking the time to listen and hear your needs and objectives and then going away and finding solutions that fit your needs.
We think it is really important to have a broker who has excellent communication skills and one who will be there to answer all your questions when you need them answered (in the way that you best learn)
When deciding to work with a broker, choose one who you feel comfortable with and who can provide you information in a way that you can absorb and understand it, a broker who returns calls and emails in a timely manner and who can provide suggestions to help you along the way.
